For the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP), the stakes are high. The group runs clinical trials into below-the-belt cancers across Australia and beyond, driven by its vision of a life without fear of cancer. Each trial generates sensitive genomic reports, patient data, and research insights that must be shared securely with clinicians, statisticians and international collaborators.
Traditional methods like email or institution-bound platforms were no longer secure enough. ANZUP needed a solution that not only allowed external collaboration but also supported patient confidentiality, upheld GDPR requirements and satisfied Australia’s strict data sovereignty laws.
That’s when Com-X stepped in with Progress ShareFile software.
National Seniors Australia (NSA) is the country’s largest independent, not-for-profit membership organisation for older Australians, with over 275,000 community members. NSA advocates on issues including aged care, healthcare, pension rights and financial security. Their work involves sensitive data, frequent engagement with government and collaboration with commercial partners.
Prior to implementing Progress ShareFile software, NSA relied on ad-hoc systems such as email, Google Sheets and SharePoint, which posed security, governance and usability challenges. These challenges increased operational risk, slowed workflows and undermined NSA’s ability to deliver trusted advocacy and services to members. The lack of a secure, centralised file-sharing platform also introduced reputational risk if data were mishandled.
